The Cruel Prince by Holly Black

The Cruel Prince (The Folk of the Air, #1)
Of course I want to be like them. They’re beautiful as blades forged in some divine fire. They will live forever.”

I chose this book because I like the Cassandra Clare stories ( The Mortal Instruments aka the hit Netflix series Shadowhunters) . As they  collaborated together ( Magisterium) I was engrossed. Holly Black has a knack for keeping it simple whilst weaving detail beautifully to keep you hooked.  Shes known as the Queen of Faries for a reason.

I enjoyed stepping back into the fantasy world of the Fae for this story wanting to believe its just across the water from us; So many books have the same characteristics for the supporting characters in this genre, and Holly made it feel like a story about friends.

Theres Intrigue, A deep dark twisted romance, and a main character who isnt squeaky clean or even trying to be the perfect combination for a storyline, and a brilliant way to set up a new series.
